Abalone is the name for a shellfish (mollusc) from the Haliotidae family. The inside of their shell consists of iridescent, silvery white to green red mother-of-pearl which can comprise of pinks and reds with predominant deep blues, greens and purples. Abalone is found in many coastal waters around the world.
